Green Papaya Salad, or Somtamin Thai
A speciality Thai salad combining fresh green papaya with spicy and sour flavours and our Tickle Me Nam Chim Everything Dressing that will tantalise your taste buds.
A mortar and pestle is the best way to release the flavours when making Somtam.

what you’ll need
150 grams of green papaya, scraped into strips
(*green apple cut into strips is an option if papaya isn’t in season)
Half a carrot, peeled and scraped into strips
1/2 tablespoon of roasted peanuts
1 teaspoon of dry shrimp
4-5 cherry tomatoes, cut in half
5 long beans, cut into 3 cm pieces
3-4 tablespoons of your favourite Tickle Me Nam Chim Everything Dressing
method

Put the sliced tomatoes and long beans in a mortar and gently pound together.

Season with your favourite Tickle Me Nam Chim Everything Dressing.
Add the papaya and carrot strips. Pound until all the ingredients are well combined.
Taste for flavor and adjust as desired.
To serve, scoop onto a plate and sprinkle with dried shrimp and peanuts.
